Lay Associations & Orders

Lay Associations, sometimes known as Third or Secular Orders, consist of lay men and women who feel called to live out a charism in the world associated with a specific spirituality of the Catholic faith and tradition.  These men & women remain in the world, living normal lives, but in association with others who share the same spirituality, charism, and way of prayer based on the particular founding saint.  Amidst the varieties of Lay or Secular Orders most people have heard of the Carmelites, Franciscans, Dominicans, and Benedictines.
