Jessica Kennedy, CFCP

Jessica is a Registered Nurse (RN) who graduated from Lansing Community College, then earned her BSN from U of M-Flint.  She is a married mother of three and is living and working in the Lansing area.  In nursing school she was familiarized with basic aspects of the reproductive cycle and fertility awareness as a form of Natural Family Planning(NFP).  When in marriage preparation she attended an Intro to NFP class and started using the Billings Method. Shortly after the birth of her first child, she felt God calling her to teach the Introduction to NFP and began teaching Introduction to NFP for the Diocese of Lansing in 2014.

Through teaching the class she learned more about the different NFP methods and discovered that the Creighton Model addresses other aspects of female reproductive health aside from spacing, delaying, and achieving pregnancy.  As an RN, she found this intriguing and wanted to learn more about how the Creighton Model is able to help with women's health issues while following the Church’s teachings. One thing Jessica struggled with was how to prevent pregnancy using NFP when breastfeeding and postpartum.  Her prior instruction indicated that NFP could not be used until menstruation returned. With Creighton this issue is solved and provides reliable NFP during the postpartum period. Jessica studied at Mercy FertilityCare Center in St. Louis, MO.
