Week 29 | On the Road to Emmaus w/ Bishop Boyea | Inspirational Story | Brothers in the Eucharist | Father Hudgins & Father Hudgins RIP | December 31 to January 6

Friday, December 29, 2023

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

Father David Hudgins was the Pastor of Saint Joseph Shrine in Brooklyn, Michigan, and the Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Lansing. As those who knew him can attest, he was as smart as he was funny and as he was serious-minded in his pursuit of personal holiness. On the morning of January 3, 2022, Father Hudgins’ was the victim of a fatal car accident when his truck struck a patch of ice. He was only 53-year-old. May he rest in peace. He had been on his way to meet his brother, Father James Hudgins of the Diocese of Arlington. This week On the Road to Emmaus, Father James reflects upon the life, death and priesthood of his brother and how, even beyond the grave, they remain united in the Holy Eucharist.
