This month, the bishops of the United States have invited us to join them in consecrating our nation, on her 250th anniversary, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
But what does it mean to consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart? And how do you enthrone the Sacred Heart in your family home? Watch this film featuring Father Bill Ashbaugh, pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Ann Arbor, as he explains the what, how, and why of enthroning the Sacred Heart.
"To enthrone an image of the Sacred Heart in your home is simply to make known that Jesus is the King of your home and the ruler of your family," says Father Ashbaugh.
"Enthroning our Lord's Heart helps us to feel His love. It also helps us to open our hearts to Christ's love and pour out that love on others. So, you're inviting the very love of God, the presence of Jesus, into your homes through this."
