Senior Appreciation Day

Light of Christ Parish in Deerfield hosted one of the Diocese of Lansing’s Senior Appreciation Day Masses. It was concelebrated by Fathers John Poll, Thomas Butler, Peter Clark, Daniel Wheeler, Anthony Strouse and Robert Pienta.In his homily, Father Butler talked about his life before he became a priest. He went on to say, “To be a lover of Jesus, we have to forgive others … we should love one another as Jesus loved us, because Jesus paid the price.”
Rose Forgial was in charge of the luncheon for the 110 people attending the Mass, and 10 volunteers prepared the food, served and cleaned up. Rose said, “We enjoy doing this. We have a wonderful group of men and women.”
