The “Amen” filled the cafeteria for the Lumen Christi senior send-off Mass. The Jackson area seniors had a torch lighting ceremony where they lit a torch and gave it to an underclassman. Revered Dan Lannen told the students it is easier to say never, but he encouraged them to work through their past hurts and go out into the world and tell the “good news." He added, “Be the light of Christ and mean it. Christ lives because of you.”
Four hundred students sang with enthusiasm and wore shirts with sayings on the back, such as “blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.” The De Paul house won the Father Paul Grehl cup.
