Watch: On the Path to the Priesthood | Joshua Bauer

Of your charity, please pray for Diocese of Lansing seminarian Joshua Bauer who is currently studying for the sacred priesthood at Saint John Vianney College Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Joshua's path to the priesthood began during his freshman year at high school when he was pondering over various careers in engineering and decided to ask God for guidance in prayer.

"I phrased the question poorly," recalls Joshua who hails from the parish of Saint Elizabeth in Tecumseh, "I said: What do you want me to do with my life? When what I really meant was 'what kind of engineer do you want me to be?' And to my great surprise, really, I felt the voice of the Lord say ... be a priest!"

One great thing has led to another and, hence, Joshua now finds himself on the path to the priesthood. It's a journey, he says, that has brought him "deep interior peace." Saint Charles Borromeo, patron of seminarians, pray for him!
