Watch: How Your DSA 2026 Generosity is Healing the Pain of Child Loss

There can be few more heart-rending experiences for a parent than the loss of a child. Thanks to your generous giving to the Diocesan Services Appeal, grieving moms across the Diocese of Lansing are finding healing and peace through Red Bird Ministries. Thank you. God bless you. Watch this moving short film to find out more about Red Bird and their Revival Retreats.

“When I started working for the diocese in 2016, it became my dream to eventually offer a service for mothers and fathers who had lost a child to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss,” says Jenny Ingles, Director of Marriage, Family, and Life Ministries, who herself has suffered several miscarriages.

“One of the most beautiful aspects of all this is that the Diocesan Services Appeal has allowed us to continue expanding this ministry so that we are now in several parts of the diocese, and we will be able to keep expanding it because of the DSA.”

Red Bird Ministries is a Catholic, pro-life, pro-family grief support ministry that focuses on bereaved families who have experienced the loss of a child of any age and circumstance — including pregnancy loss through miscarriage and stillbirth, as well as the loss of an infant, child, adolescent, or adult.

The diocesan chapter of Red Bird Ministries facilitates healing retreats for mothers grieving miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. The Revival Retreat is made possible in part by the direct support of the Diocesan Services Appeal, which provides funds for every aspect of the retreat: speakers, venue, planning, scholarships, and more. The Diocese of Lansing covers some costs to keep fees lower for retreatants.
