Senior Day of Reflection

Almost 200 senior citizens gathered at St. Joseph Shrine’s Family Center in Brooklyn to share the Senior Day of Reflection. Father Tom Helfrich, OSFS, was the presenter and celebrated Mass for those attending.
Father Helfrich spoke about “I’ve Got a Secret.” He began, “Come follow me.” And then said, “We always think God is talking to someone else.” Father Helfrich said even though we hear those words we want to do our own thing and not follow God. He shared that in seventh grade he had a profound sense of the presence of the Lord and heard that call – “come follow me.” He followed that call to the priesthood. Father Tom said, “We have a great secret to share. It doesn’t end until our lives end. If you are here, you have a mission.”
