Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Linda Higgins has been the RCIA director at Sacred Heart Parish, Hudson, for eight years. She enjoys heading up the program … “I love it. The team and I feel they are our children … and when no longer director … I will join the team … passing on our Catholic faith.”Neysa Carpenter, a candidate this year shared, “For me it means the search is over. Catholicism is what I have been searching for my entire adult life. Through RCIA, I have been given warmth of community, an education from the faithful and shown just how easy it is to feel our Father’s love.” She continued, “I have been blessed with amazing people to share this journey. Years from now, I will look back at my beginning in the Catholic family and treasure the knowledge, the love and the people.”
Neysa attended a joint Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion, Feb. 16 at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Saline. Bishop Boyea celebrated the rite, which elects the catechumens to receive the three sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil.
Neysa said, “It was an inspiring day to be with so many people celebrating love of their faith. The day made me realize the love our Father has for us. His arms are open to us; we just simply have to welcome His embrace.”
