Dear friends, the month of May is our annual reminder to deepen our relationship with Mother Mary, writes Dawn Hausmann, Director of Consecrated Vocations, Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry, and Delegate of Consecrated Life for the Lansing Diocese, May 1. Dawn continues:
Mary is our greatest sister in faith, model of embodying God through life in the Holy Spirit, becoming His temple. She teaches us how to be sensitive and docile to God’s will.
Mary is our greatest help, as Pope Francis said, “no one knows better than a Mother the stages of growth and the urgent needs of her children…Mary knows our needs; she intercedes to make grace overflow in our lives and to guide them to authentic fulfillment.” (Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, January 1, 2024)
So, let’s each ask Mama Mary how she wants us to draw closer to her…by casually talking with her in our daily lives, by praying a daily rosary in a more relational way, by a Marian consecration, or by doing a pilgrimage to a particular Marian site. There are endless ways of relating to Mary…so let’s ask her.
