Katy Faust, author of the popular book Them Before Us: Why We Need a Global Children's Rights Movement, will be speaking at Holy Spirit parish in Brighton at 7pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. All are very welcome to attend.
“I read Katy's book last year and it was transformative,” says Jason Negri of Holy Spirit’s marriage ministry, Guardians of Grace, who are hosting the event.
“Many of the social issues that Americans are wrangling about, including abortion, same-sex marriage, IVF, divorce – Katy tackles them from a pro-child perspective and, using hard data, presents convincing arguments for why these things are bad for children and thus, bad for society. Please make a point of attending what might be the most important talk you'll hear all year.”
Katy Faust is the founder and president of Them Before Us, an organization solely devoted to defending children’s natural rights in family structure. She launched it in 2018 after perceiving that children were being sidelined in debates about marriage, surrogacy, divorce, and reproductive technologies.
Katy, pictured above, is herself a married mom of four: two teens still at home, one in college, and one recently married and graduated. Her message is clear and courageous: children have a right to their mother and father, and adults must conform to the needs of children, not expect the opposite.
"All of us have people we love who are considering divorce, struggling with infertility, in a same-sex relationship, or raising children conceived through IVF,” says Katy, “And all of us want to know how we can love them well without compromising the truth. The answer? Putting Them Before Us. Looking at every issue not from the perspective of what adults want, but what children need.”
• Where and when: 7pm, October 8, 2025, Holy Spirit Church, 9565 Musch Rd, Brighton MI 48116.
