Former Michigan priest charged in 1980s sexual abuse cases

On Monday, January 12, 2015 James Rapp was charged by the Michigan Attorney General for sexual abuse during his time serving at Lumen Christi Catholic High School during the 1980s ( see Attorney General's press release ).

 

Chris Smith, Principal of Lumen Christi, sent out the following email to parents and guardians of students at Lumen Christi:

 

Dear Parents and Guardians of students at Lumen Christi:

 

Today we received the attached Press Release from the Michigan Attorney General's office, which states that James Francis Rapp, former priest, has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the 1980s. I am writing to let you know that the Diocese of Lansing and Lumen Christi Catholic High School have fully cooperated with this investigation.
