Bishop Earl Boyea of Lansing has declared this Friday, April 3, to be a day of prayer and fasting as the Catholic community of Michigan continues to play its part in combatting the current COVID-19 outbreak across the United States and beyond.
“Jesus Christ himself gives us a divine mandate to fast and pray when threatened by the powers of darkness (Matthew 17:21),” said Bishop Earl Boyea, April 1.
“And, so, in the face of this COVID-19 outbreak what more effective prescription could there be than to follow the remedy given to us by our Good Lord, the Divine Physician himself.”
“I would therefore urge all Catholics and, indeed, all people within the Diocese of Lansing to make this Friday a powerful day of prayer and fasting.”
Friday’s Day of Prayer and Fasting will be live-streamed on the Diocese of Lansing Facebook page and YouTube throughout the day with prayers being led from across the diocese. The schedule is thus:
