September 13, 2017 marked Bishop Boyea's his 15th episcopal anniversary. On July 22, 2002 Pope John Paul II appointed Earl Boyea an Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit. On Sept. 13, 2002, he was ordained a bishop. On September 15, Bishop Boyea was joined by a number of his brother priests, diocesan staff and parishioners in a Mass of Celebration.
On April 29, 2018, our diocese will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bishop Boyea being appointed Bishop of Lansing.
