St. Thomas School, Ann Arbor, is accepting resumes and cover letters for a part to full time position as a Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Technology teacher.
The successful candidate will have strong critical thinking skills with expertise in educational technology, information systems and computer science. The candidate will have experience in creating computer laboratory learning experiences with students both individually and in groups ranging from learning basic computer usage skills, to word-processing, spreadsheet and graphics programs to building websites and writing code. They must understand how information systems work and be able to teach others how to use computers effectively, including serving as a resource for supporting staff development in the use of classroom educational technology. The successful candidate will be capable of working with students at different levels of understanding by provide differentiated learning within a framework of K – 8 technology learning standards.
The successful candidate will be a faith-filled Catholic, be effective at building compassionate relationships with children, uphold clear classroom management expectations, and be effective at working collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional candidate qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from an accredited university, possess or be prepared to earn a valid Michigan teaching certification, must pass a criminal background check, committed to life-long learning, and the ability to communicate effectively with parents. The hired candidate will complete Protecting God’s Children program.
