Virtual Study: Theology of the Body

Join us in the new year for a virtual study of Pope John Paul II’s masterpiece:
Man and Woman He Created Them: A Theology of the Body
This series will be led by Fr. Mike Cassar and Dawn Hausmann, offering an engaging and prayerful exploration of the Theology of the Body.
 

What to Expect

  • Opening Reflection & Teaching (20–30 min): Each session begins with a presentation on approximately six audiences from the text.
  • Small Group Discussion (20–30 min): Participate in virtual breakout groups or gather in person with your own group. If meeting in person, you can mute Zoom and hold your discussion locally.
  • Large Group Q&A (20–30 min): Return to the main session for questions and deeper discussion (optional).

Flexibility for In-Person Groups

The first teaching segment will be recorded. If your group meets on a different day, you can watch the recording and hold your own discussion. Please note: you won’t be able to join the live Q&A portion.

About the Presenters

 

Dawn Hausmann

Dawn Hausmann is the Director of Consecrated Vocations, Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry, and Delegate of Consecrated Life for the Lansing Diocese. She has been serving the Diocese of Lansing since 2011. She has a degree in Social Work from MSU and a Master in Theology from the Pontifical John Paul Institute for the Studies of Marriage and Family in Washington D.C.  She has a passion for spreading John Paul II's Theology of the Body, teaching Ignatian Spirituality, and for helping people journey in vocational discernment.  She herself has responded to a call to the consecrated life in the vocation of consecrated virginity.  On November 16th 2019, Dawn was consecrated to a life of virginity as a bride of Christ by Bishop Boyea on the Feast of St. Gertrude.

 

 

 

 

Rev. Mike Cassar

Fr. Mike Cassar grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Theology. He has served as parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in East Lansing and St. John Student Center at Michigan State University.
