Decree of Promulgation - Revision of Diocesan Schools Statutes - June 1, 2015

Welcome to Diocese of Lansing Catholic Schools

We thank God for your interest in Catholic schools. We are blessed to have 34 diocesan schools, including four regional high schools, and over 9,000 students. We also have four independent Catholic schools in our diocese. We have a strong commitment to Catholic education, and have been working to ensure continuous improvement in all our schools. We are grateful to be working alongside many of you to ensure that our Catholic schools are marked by Catholic cultures in which students excel and our faith is “caught” as well as taught.

In the summer of 2010, together with priests, religious, educators, and parents, the Diocese of Lansing began a process of transformational change for our Catholic schools. The December 8, 2010 report, entitled, “Maintenance to Mission,” conveys our diocesan commitment and initial plans for that transformation. As part of that effort, we developed a set of Vision Elements (link) for our schools, which have guided the professional development of our teachers and principals.

In essence, a truly Catholic education is among the best gifts parents can give their children. Students in our schools grow in wisdom and knowledge, and are formed in cultures marked by faith, hope, and love. They learn about God’s world, and God who created the world. Our schools are committed to excellence in every aspect of life, because we do everything for the Glory of God. Our high standards are not just aimed at creating successful students. We commit ourselves to forming faithful leaders, educated in excellence, who know how to serve.

Parents, we invite you to prayerfully consider Catholic schools for your child(ren), and to schedule a visit at a school near you. You might wonder if you can afford to send your children to Catholic schools, but we invite you to find out how affordable it can be. Our schools do all they can to help families send their children to Catholic schools. Schedule a visit today.
