Restorative Justice Ministry Seeks Volunteers!

Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment...  Hebrews 13:3

VICTIMS

FAMILIES

PRISONERS

The Restorative Justice Ministry seeks to bring gospel values to bear on the criminal justice system. We seek to promote a justice that values reconciliation, healing and restitution to victims, and opportunities for reform and self-improvement for offenders. Our ministry also tries to impact public policy in accord with the values mentioned above.

Most of our efforts consist in providing religious services to men and women in more than twentyfive jails, prisons and youth facilities across our diocese. Most of the prisoners we serve are Catholic. We also strive to serve prisoners of other faith denominations or those who have no faith.

We recognize also that the families or incarcerated people are often the "unseen" victims of crime and we seek to minister to them through outreach ministry.

If you would like to learn more about any aspect of Restorative Justice, please contactJoe Dioniseor 517-342-2495, or fax to 517-342-2468.
