Purpose

The Diocesan Coordinating Commission was appointed by Bishop Mengeling and convened in February, 2006. The work of this Commission was defined as follows:

1. To design a plan by which the pastoral and sacramental needs and pastoral leadership needs of our 97 faith communities will be reviewed.

2. To recommend to the Bishop of Lansing the principles by which the process will be guided. These principles will be based on the input received during the four diocesan study days held in September and October, 2005.

3. To keep the Bishop of Lansing informed at each step of the process.

4. To monitor the timetable of the overall process once the Bishop of Lansing has approved it.
