Catholic Charities in Jackson moves to new location

Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties announces its move to a new Jackson location at 3425 Francis Street. Staff from both the Joy Avenue and Mechanic Street facilities in Jackson will move to the new location Friday, Aug.19. The offices will be closed on Aug.19 and business will resume Monday, Aug. 22 at 8 a.m. The phone numbers will remain the same. The Jackson main office line is 517.782.2551.

All services in Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties will remain the same.

“By relocating to a newer facility Catholic Charities is positioning itself to be a viable human service provider in the Jackson community for many years to come,” states Board President Doug Beiswanger. “We are combining staff from two much older facilities into one, improving efficiencies and saving costs.”

The Personal Needs and Linen Closet will continue to operate from 407 S. Mechanic St. at this time. They are open the second and fourth Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon. Donations to the Personal Needs and Linen Closet will be accepted at the Francis Street facility during the week.

“We are excited to be able to improve client services through significantly updated facilities, better accessibility, and a comfortable environment more conducive to outpatient counseling and group therapy,” exclaims Sue Lewis, executive director. “By working under one roof, we have the opportunity to improve service delivery, be more efficient in our operations, and increase program collaboration and employee morale.”

Catholic Charities of Jackson County was founded in 1966 and merged in 2010 with Catholic Charities of Lenawee, founded in 1958, to form Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, providing help and creating hope for the tri-county area of southern Michigan.
