Director of Spiritual Life for Adrian Dominican Sisters

The Adrian Dominican Sisters, a congregation of vowed Catholic women religious, is seeking a full-time Director of Spiritual Life to minister on the Motherhouse campus in Adrian, Michigan.  

The Director of Spiritual Life helps Adrian Dominican Sisters live their commitment to deepen their spirituality and to engage with others in prayer and presence in order to witness the mystery of God in their midst.  This commitment challenges Sisters and Associates to recognize and respond both to their own spiritual longings as well as those of the world.

Math Teacher

Part-time Middle School Science Position

Director of Music

St Pius X Parish, Flint

St. Pius X Parish in Flint Township, Michigan is seeking a Director of Music.  This is a part-time, non-exempt position which regularly works 19 hours per week and reports directly to the pastor.  A good applicant would be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of the treasury of sacred music and hymnody of the Catholic Church.  The Director of Music needs to be able to play the organ.  The applicant should have good interpersonal skills and be able to work with an adult choir (with many members) and parishioners.  

The Director of Music will be responsible for playing 3 weekend liturgies (4:30pm Saturday, 9:00 & 11:00am Sunday), as well as Holydays and a weekly school Mass.  This person also works with choir practices.

Youth Outreach Director and Parish Faith Formation Minister

St. Mary Parish, Westphalia

This full-time position involves the direction of the parish’s high school and middle-school religious education programs including the ordering of materials, coordination of scheduling with the local schools and neighboring parishes, implementation of programs, as well as booking guest presenters and catechists. 

The position involves coordination or oversight of the other youth programs in the parish such as the Sunday School Program, Vacation Bible School Program, and Elementary Religious Classes outside of St. Mary School, the weekly High School Bible Study, and high school youth trips such as to the Steubenville Conferences and March for Life. 

The position involves oversight of the Ark facility which is primarily directed toward serving the youth of the area.  This oversight includes the staffing, fundraising, inventory review, and upkeep of the Ark.  Finally, the position involves working as part of a team to implement educational and discipleship programming for the entire parish.

Religious Education Coordinator (Full-time)

St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish, Adrian

St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish, located one mile apart from each other in Adrian, Michigan, with a total of about 1,600 registered households, are seeking to hire together a minister responsible for the preparation of adults (R.C.I.A.) and youth/children (sacramental catechesis) for the sacraments of initiation and reconciliation; the catechesis of pre-school through grade 5 students, the recording of sacramental data; and the recording of training.  The Religious Education Coordinator’s ministry is a position that will include routine evening, and occasional weekend commitments, and increased hours during peak sacramental periods (Lent/Easter).  This minister will be under the supervision of the Pastors of St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Parishes, work with the staff members of both parishes, serve the parishioners of both parishes, and be the pastors’ liaison to the Diocese regarding matters related to recording sacramental data, and maintaining records related to the diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection.

Ministry related to adults includes coordinating a single Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program for both parishes (with Liturgical rites taking place at both parishes), empowering a team of volunteer ministers to assist with the RCIA program (team leaders, sponsors), and recording the appropriate data in each of the parishes sacramental registers.

Ministry related to children/youth includes coordinating infant baptism preparation classes, empowering volunteer ministers to carry out these classes, preparing students and parents for first Reconciliation, and first Eucharist, and providing regular catechetical instruction by recruiting, training, and utilizing parish volunteers for students from pre-school through grade 5.  Knowledge of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd pre-school program will be helpful to this position.

Preferred candidates will have experience working in a parish catechetical program, or Catholic education; good organizational skills; excellent verbal and written skills; team building and team working skills; and good canonical standing with the Catholic Church.  Ideal candidates will have some command of Spanish and comfort working with Latino Catholic culture.

Part-time Special Education Para-educator

Father Gabriel Richard High Shool, Ann Arbor

Powers High School is accepting applications for the Director of Advancement position.  The Director of Advancement has as their primary purpose to provide assistance, leadership, and vision to the President in conducting a comprehensive development/institutional advancement program for Powers Catholic High School in order to support the school’s Catholic mission. The Advancement Director reports to the school’s President and is responsible for programs and events that relate to fundraising, alumni affairs, family programs, public relations, and communication. In collaboration with the President, he/she will also be responsible for managing the advancement staff and functions including; annual giving, alumni relations, Board of Trustee and Trust Fund Board relations, major gifts, capital campaigns, gift records, data base management, student philanthropy education, special events, planned giving, communications, plans to market the school’s Catholic image and increase student enrollment, attract financial gifts and support for the school from individuals, foundations and corporations.

Youth and Young Adult Minister

St. Edith Catholic Church, Livonia (Archdiocese of Detroit)

The Youth and Young Adult Minister is responsible for assisting in the development, administration, and evaluation of all youth and young adult formation activities according to the mission, goals and objectives of the parish.  These activities will include faith formation and community building activities for youth and young adults.  This position requires strong collaboration skills and a willingness to work with staff and volunteers in all areas of parish life, while promoting and marketing youth and young adult activities.

Responsibilities
May serve on the education commission as a resource person and assists the commission in carrying out its objectives
Responsible for developing and carrying out faith formation and community building activities required for youth and young adult ministry
Responsible for assisting in budget planning for youth and young adult ministry
May also include assisting in other areas of faith formation
Direct report to the Pastor
Maintains a flexible work schedule averaging 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and special events

Attributes
Be an active Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church
Have the ability to work collaboratively with parish staff and volunteers as well as a wide variety of groups both within and outside the parish
Have an understanding of the theological and psychological foundations of Christian spirituality and the ability to foster spiritual growth
Have an understanding of Church documents, current trends and new developments in the field of Theology
Ability to use various forms of technology to market and conduct faith formation and community building activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and planning skills
Commitment to continuing education and formation 

Required education – Training – Experience
Full certification as a catechist preferred
BA in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education or equivalent
Experience giving large group presentations and facilitating small group discussions
Experience incorporating various forms of technology into presentations
Experience working with high school teens
