Music Director/Organist

St. Joseph Parish, St. Johns

Position Opening:  St. Joseph Church in St. Johns is accepting applications for the Music Director-Organist position at their parish. Applicant must be proficient on piano and organ, familiar with liturgical norms, and able to direct the adult choir.

Major duties and responsibilities:

 

Responsible for oversight and coordination of all music at St. Joseph Church including 4 weekend Masses, all holydays, funerals, and weddings. 

Develop, direct, and accompany the adult parish choir.

Develop, direct, and accompany the funeral choir.

Responsible for recruiting and developing soloists and cantors.

Part Time Coordinator of Youth Ministry

St. Francis Xavier Parish, Otisville

 

St. Francis Xavier parish in Otisville, Michigan is looking for a part-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry.

The position involves working with the youth at St. Francis Xavier. The candidate should be energetic, and enthusiastic, invested in helping implement Bishop Boyea's call for New Evangelization.

This part-time 19 hour a week position has flexible hours which would include working some weekends and evenings. Coordinating Youth Group Meetings, Confirmation Preparation, planning Retreats, Service projects, and other youth and middle school activities are all parts of this job. Working in tandem with our DRE to support and grow an already active and established youth group is a must.

High School President

Fr. Gabriel Richard High School, Ann Arbor

Fr. Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan is accepting applications for the position of High School President. This is a new position at Fr. Gabriel Richard High School that followed from a thorough review of best practices for school governance and administrative structure. Along with a new Board of Specified Jurisdiction the President will help further enhance the spiritual, academic, and program excellence of Fr. Gabriel Richard High School.  

Father Gabriel Richard High School is a diocesan co-educational comprehensive school which offers a college preparatory curriculum based upon Catholic principles and traditions. High School Spanish Teacher

Fr. Gabriel Richard High School, Ann Arbor

Father Gabriel Richard High School, a private co-ed comprehensive Catholic high school in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Spanish Teacher for 2015-2016. Our driving mission is to form disciples of Jesus within an academic setting. Applicants must be passionate about teaching as well as committed to promoting this mission.

 Duties include: collaborating with current Spanish faculty to improve and coordinate existing courses in the Spanish language sequence and teaching five sections of Spanish courses at a variety of levels, from Spanish I to AP Spanish.

Applicants must have a major in Spanish and a current Michigan secondary teaching certificate, with native or near-native proficiency in Spanish. Candidates with a minimum score of Advanced-Low on the ACTFL OPI are preferred.

Candidates must also show proven excellence in teaching high school Spanish language at all levels, knowledge of world language teaching methodologies, including technology-related pedagogy and authentic acquisition and expertise in curriculum development and assessment.

Part-Time Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry

St. John the Evangelist Parish, Jackson

St. John Parish in Jackson, Michigan is searching for a part-time Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry who is desirous of inspiring and igniting the Holy Spirit in the hearts of our youth and young adults.

The position involves the recruitment, training and supervision of an inspirational and committed youth ministry core team.  The candidate should be invested in helping implement new initiatives that answer the Church’s and specifically Bishop Boyea's call for the New Evangelization.

This part-time position will include working throughout most Sundays, coordinating the youth group meetings and confirmation preparation.  It will also include leading the core team’s planning of retreats, service and fundraising projects, and the youth’s participation in conferences and other evangelistic experiences.  The position would also include regional cooperation with the Jackson area young adult ministry, including the parish’s participation in i.d. 9:16.

Thus, the candidate must be:

  • Energetic and enthusiastic about the Catholic Faith
  • Gifted at gaining support from adults, especially the parents, and inspiring and training a number of them to be mentors and facilitators for the youth small groups
  • Excellent at planning and executing events with an attention to detail that foster an encounter with Jesus
  • A team player who can collaborate with the existing staff
  • Skilled with the computer, social media, and communications design of flyers and booklets

Math Teacher
