Technology Teacher

Immaculate Heart of Mary - St. Casimir School, Lansing

Substitute Teachers

St. Thomas the Apostle, Ann Arbor

St. Thomas School located in the historic Kerrytown area of Ann Arbor is seeking substitute teachers for the 2014-2015 school year.  We are a preschool through 8th grade Catholic school of approximately 210 students.  Qualified candidates should possess experience with the guided reading program and administering running records; display excellent classroom management skills and be able to provide examples of parent/teacher newsletters/correspondence.  Experience creating a strong classroom community will be essential as well as the importance of establishing strong professional relationships with families.

Requirements for the position:  a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a current Michigan teaching certificate; 1-3 years of classroom teaching experience; and be a practicing Catholic.

ROSC Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor

Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties

Work Location:  Lenawee County

Catholic Charities of JL&H Counties is accepting applications for a ROSC Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor.  The position is resquired to provide information, referral and advocacy services to persons with substance abuse issues within the ROSC Program.  Services are provided to assist the client to function independently while maintaining their sobriety and dignity.  Particular emphasis is placed upon serving those persons that are socially or geographically isolated, economically disadvantaged and/or have medical needs.  Also responsible to perform professional level work in the field of substance abuse treatment and prevention work.  Responsibilities include assessing clients and providing group therapy as well as individual therapy within contractual and program guidelines.  This work is confidential and requires a high degree of individual judgment.

Qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field with 2 years experience in the area of substance abuse treatment.  Must possess a CADC.

Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License, have reliable transportation and a willingness to drive as needed for outreach and program needs.

Must provide proof of adequate auto insurance and have a good driving record.

If a recovering person, a minimum of four years continuous sobriety is required.

Must be familiar with the 12 Step process.

Must demonstrate an awareness of the process of recovery; a deep concern for the welfare of recovering persons; and a commitment to develop services of high quality for recovering people.

Must demonstrate the ability to relate to persons in recovery.

Must have experience leading groups.

Must demonstrate ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner both orally and written.

Must have excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; must include Word and skills in using the internet along with the ability to learn new programs.

Must be familiar with Lenawee County.

Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Must be willing to perform duties in keeping with Catholic social teachings.

The position is full time and reports to the Substance Abuse Program Manager.

 Qualifications:  Five years proven experience in non-profit administration including strategic planning, grant procurement and fiscal management; Master’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience; practicing Roman Catholic with working knowledge of Catholic Church teachings, structures and constituencies.  Professional experience in Human Resource Management in a Catholic organization and PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
