Assistant Production Coordinator
The FAITH Catholic assistant production coordinator is responsible for managing creative services for clients and internal work.  Candidate should be able to independently manage creative service projects from initiation to completion, have a positive and helpful attitude, problem solve, be highly organized and thorough and, of course, have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Duties include: meet with client to initiate project, define roles and responsibilities, estimate costs, prepare production timeline, and serve as liaison between client and staff (editorial, creative, technology) and printer to ensure quality services are delivered on time and within approved budget.

Coordinator of Youth Ministry (9-12th grades)

St Jude, DeWitt

The Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt, MI has an opening for a Youth Minister for our high school youth to begin July1.  This position is currently a 10 month, 20 hour per week position with benefits.  The person for this position administers & provides primarily hands-on teaching/mentoring the faith formation of our high school youth (9th through 12th grade) in collaboration with the Pastor, Pastoral Association and the Director of Faith Formation (pre-K through 8th grade).    The person selected for this position should have excellent organizational skills and is able to prioritize multiple tasks.  They must understand and work well with teenage youth as well as be able to mentor volunteers who assist with the program.  This requires knowledge of Microsoft office programs (especially Publisher) and can adapt to working with the diocesan ParishSoft program.  First and foremost the person we are seeking must have the enthusiasm, energy, knowledge and commitment to their Catholic faith.

Director of Adult Faith Formation and Evangelization

Full-time Director of Development

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Ann Arbor

The Development Director position will plan, coordinate, and direct activities that attract the philanthropic support needed to provide for St. Thomas and the mission of the parish and school.  The major objectives of the position are to meet the spiritual needs of the parish through teaching stewardship and to raise annual development funds, capital needs, endowment funds and regular contributions.  The Development Director will plan and implement fundraising campaigns that demonstrate vision and initiative by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting groups, individual donors, major benefactors, corporate sponsors, and foundation representatives.

Coordinates periodic capital fund raising campaigns with Parish;
Keeps abreast of current best practices and tools through professional reading and training;
Contributes to the school and parish annual report in conjunction with the Administrator and Principal that includes presentation of financials, donor recognition, fund-raising successes, and review of accomplishments;
Annually evaluates fund raising efforts and results and adjusts strategies as necessary;

Technology Support

This 30-hour per week position will provide technical assistance to the Central Service offices of the Diocese of Lansing and Faith Catholic staff on two separate campuses in Lansing. FullTime Special Education Teacher

Father Gabriel Rachard High School, Ann Arbor

Maintance Worker

Director of Faith Formation

General Summary:

St John Catholic Church is looking for a Director of Faith Formation to form and inspire the children of St. John Catholic Church, their families, and catechists in the Faith and Traditions of the Roman Catholic Church so that they may be led into encounters with Jesus Christ and the Church, for the salvation of their souls, and the building up of the Kingdom of God.  The Religious Education Program, Preschool - 8th grade has about 500 children.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Variable: duties may be split up and performed by more than one Staff  member, based on skill-set and qualifications)

 Organize and oversee sound Catechetical Religious Education Programs for children

 from preschool through eighth grade. (Faith Formation Classes, family and Home School

 programs, Vacation Bible School, and Middle School).

 Oversee the Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and

 Confirmation, and organize and assist at the respective liturgies.

 Adult Faith Formation, including RCIA.

 Recruit, train, support, supervise, and evaluate all Religious Education volunteers.

 Prepare an annual budget and yearly program calendar for approval.

 Implement Diocesan and Parish Catechetical policies and guidelines, including Catechist

 Certification and policies related to the protection of children and youth.

 Counsel, advise, and meet with students, parents, and teachers when problems arise in the classroom.

 Maintain the necessary records pertaining to the various Religious Education Programs and personnel.

 Collaborate with the Pastor and the Faith Formation Commission to set long range goals for the Parish   community.

 Attend regional and Diocesan meetings and workshops concerning Religious Education.

 Engage in personal faith formation opportunities.

 Serve as a resource on catechetical matters such as current trends, instructional materials, and in the development of policies.

 

The Pastor will review the performance of the Director of Faith Formation annually in terms of the success of the program and fulfillment of the duties stated herein.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in theology or related educational field.

Required: Proven participation in the Diocesan Virtus Safe Environment Program and a clear background check is required in order to be offered employment in any Parish in the Diocese of Lansing.

Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience as a catechist or involvement in Parish Ministry required.  Knowledge of google mail and calendars, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical demands: While performing duties, employee has to sit for long periods of time, use hands in repetitive motion tasks, and answer telephone calls. The position also requires some standing, stooping, and bending and rearranging of tables and chairs when coordinating various educational programs and presentations. Employee is expected to work onsite. Some travel is required throughout the school year.  Weekend work, in addition to weekday evening work, is required.

Discipleship Coordinator for Youth and Adults

St. Mary Parish, Durand and St. Joseph Parish, Gaines

St. Mary Parish in Durand and St. Joseph Parish in Gaines are accepting applications for the Discipleship Coordinator position.  This position will coordinate efforts to bring the youth and adults into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.  

The position is responsible to plan, organize, and lead opportunities for encountering Jesus and growing in discipleship for youth (8 - 12 grade) and adults in the Durand and Gaines, MI communities. These two parish communities are in the process of being merged into one parish. Duties include running the confirmation program under the guidance of the DRE; leading LifeTeen, including a youth retreat and service work; offering evangelization opportunities in the community; organizing adult, especially young adult, faith formation opportunities; and assisting the pastor in administrative responsibilities. 

The position requires full time hours but the parish is open to hiring two part time employees. 

The postion requires a bachelor's degree in Theology, Ministry, Catechetics, or equivalent, and demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Qualified applicants must have a working understanding of the new evangelization at the parish level. A minimum of two years experience in parish ministry and/or evangelization work is desirable, including recruiting and retaining volunteers. Director Religious Formation

St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Brighton

St. Mary Magdalen Parish is looking for a person of faith who is committed to Christ; a person whose ministry is grounded in personal prayer; a person with respect for the Liturgy, faith and traditions of the Catholic Church.   

The Director of Religious Formation for grades K-10 works in collaboration with the pastor, parish staff and a large number of catechetical leaders, catechists and parents.  Our DFR works with our parish leadership and our catechetical team (an assistant, a secretary, lead catechists and a Youth Formation Team) to provide direction and vision for the catechesis and evangelization of the youth in our parish.

Our program has 631 participants which meet in 26 sessions from September to May.  It includes:

A traditional program meeting on Wednesdays (4:30-6 & 6:30-8 pm) and Thursdays (5:30-7pm)

K meeting on Sundays during Liturgy

Grades 9 & 10 Confirmation Program on Sunday evening

A Family Program meeting on Sundays twice a month

A Sacramental formation program for First Penance and First Eucharist, Solemn Penance and Confirmation – all of which use an RCIA model.

Our DRF also oversees the Children’s Liturgy of the Word on Sundays at both Liturgies and our Vacation Bible School (Journey with Jesus) in the summer.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, guide and coordinate the catechetical programs.

Recruit, train and assist catechists in their on-going formation.

Create a budget and monitor all expenses; oversee the maintenance of Sacramental and permanent records; oversee needed supplies and resource materials.

Attend staff, regional and diocesan meetings connected to this position.

Organize, conduct and facilitate sacramental retreats, parent Sacramental formation meetings and facilitate catechist participation in regional formation meetings and diocesan catechetical gatherings.

Participate in in-service and professional training programs when necessary.

Regularly evaluate the overall efficacy of religious formation to the extent that our programs are drawing our children into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Be Virtus certified and be a trained facilitator of the program Protecting God’s Children and Safe Sheep in our Flock.

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in theology, Catechesis, Education or related field.
At least two years of previous experience in the instruction of children.
A commitment to professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and transparency in all interactions with young people, parish staff and parishioners.
Effective communication skills.                                                                                                                        
An ability to continue the development of a dynamic and effective program for our young people.

Religious Education Coordinator

St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish, Adrian

St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish, located one mile apart from each other in Adrian, Michigan, with a total of about 1,600 registered households, are seeking to hire together a minister responsible for the preparation of adults (R.C.I.A.) and youth/children (sacramental catechesis) for the sacraments of initiation and reconciliation; the catechesis of pre-school through grade 5 students, the recording of sacramental data; and the recording of training.  The Religious Education Coordinator’s ministry is a position that will include routine evening, and occasional weekend commitments, and increased hours during peak sacramental periods (Lent/Easter).  This minister will be under the supervision of the Pastors of St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Parishes, work with the staff members of both parishes, serve the parishioners of both parishes, and be the pastors’ liaison to the Diocese regarding matters related to recording sacramental data, and maintaining records related to the diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection.

Ministry related to adults includes coordinating a single Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program for both parishes (with Liturgical rites taking place at both parishes), empowering a team of volunteer ministers to assist with the RCIA program (team leaders, sponsors), and recording the appropriate data in each of the parishes sacramental registers.

Ministry related to children/youth includes coordinating infant baptism preparation classes, empowering volunteer ministers to carry out these classes, preparing students and parents for first Reconciliation, and first Eucharist, and providing regular catechetical instruction by recruiting, training, and utilizing parish volunteers for students from pre-school through grade 5.

Preferred candidates will have experience working in a parish catechetical program, or Catholic education; good organizational skills; excellent verbal and written skills; team building and team working skills; and good canonical standing with the Catholic Church.  Ideal candidates will have some command of Spanish and comfort working with Latino Catholic culture.
