GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
KEEPING THE MEMORIES ALIVE

The Diocese of Lansing Cemeteries provides several opportunities to memorialize a loved one or to donate a gift or bequest to a particular cemetery.  All donations are used exclusively within the cemetery chosen by the donor and not used by or for any other Catholic cemetery or for any other purpose.

Your contribution is tax deductible to the
fullest extent provided by law.

ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CEMETERY

St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery provides two ways for families to honor their loved ones:

“We Remember...”  Memorial Fund

tree of life
Throughout time, living things have been planted in memory of special people and special events.  The “Tree of Life” mounted in the Cemetery Office lobby will memorialize the special people whose names are placed on the leaves and stones.  Funds from the “WE REMEMBER…” MEMORIAL FUND will be used to enhance the beauty of the cemetery with items such as landscaping, statuary, and flower gardens.

Donation envelopes are available at the Cemetery Office.  Monthly payment plans are available.  All gifts, unless otherwise directed, will be publicly acknowledged.

Catholic Veterans Memorial Fund

veteran memorial plazaLocated near the Cemetery Office, the present memorial to Catholic War Veterans was dedicated on May 30, 1980, honoring the men and women of the Lansing Catholic community who have fought and died to preserve defending our way of life.  The memorial was enhanced in 2009 with the creation of a plaza-like setting and the addition of shrubbery and flowers.

The present memorial site was enhanced with the creation of a plaza setting.  New shrubbery and flowers were added to accentuate the memorial.

Pavers locate in the plaza present a unique memorial opportunity. Placed randomly, the pavers can be engraved with your name, the name of a loved one, a veteran, the name of a business, or serve as a personal veteran memorial.

Since 1999, the ST. CALLISTUS MEMORIAL FUND provides for the beautification and improvement of New and Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery as a meaningful and permanent tribute to someone dear who has passed away.

The west wing entrance of the mausoleum is home to the St. Callistus Memorial Fund Donor Board.  Engraved wooden plaques memorialize gifts and memorial donations.

OLD CALVARY CATHOLIC CEMETERY

Old Calvary Monument Restoration Fund

monumentEstablished in 2000 to clean, redress, and restore the cemetery’s century old memorials to their original glory.

Designated a Michigan historical site in 1996, Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery’s park-like ambiance reflects its beginnings in the rural cemetery movement of the 1830's.  The cemetery’s 10 acre site contains approximately 7,500 burials dating from its mid-nineteenth century, including many of Flint’s most prominent citizens.

Time, acid rain and climate have had an effect on the cemetery’s monuments and grave markers ranging from pedestals topped crosses and obelisks to unique upright monuments.

Donation envelopes are available at the Cemetery Office.  Monthly payment plans are available.  All gifts, unless otherwise directed, will be publicly acknowledged.

For more information, contact or visit New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 810-732-2620

The Diocese of Lansing Cemeteries expresses a heart filled thank-you to our many benefactors and remind everyone that these loved ones continue to be remembered at all religious activities sponsored by St. Joseph, New Calvary and Old Calvary Catholic Cemeteries.

Please remember your cemetery in your will.

All gifts, unless otherwise directed, will be publicly acknowledged.
