Take Charge! With Jeff Jay

When enough is enough and someone you love is an Alcohol or Drug Abuser... there is Hope... and there is something YOU can do!  It's time to Take Charge!

THE UNDERSTANDING AND HOPE YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR
You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't care for someone who had a serious problem with alcohol or drug addiction.  And, if you're like most who suffer along with the addict, you feel that the situation is hopeless.

We are here to tell you that there is a way.
There is hope for you.
There is hope for someone you love.

Everything you need is here and available to you through the Bishop's Council on Alcohol & Other Drugs.  Many of the parishes in our diocese have this kit available to you through our parish representatives.  Click here to look up your parish listing.  You may also call us toll-free at 877/342-2513 to borrow a copy of this program or to purchase one from our office.

The Story Behind Jeff Jay and Take Charge!
Jeff Jay is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict.  and he's alive and well today only because someone loved him enough to step-in, take charge, and effectively intervene... before it was too late.  Jeff's amazing turnaround launched a life-long commitment to helping others recover from serious substance abuse.  First as a counselor and therapist, and now an an impassioned educator, Jeff has built a national reputation as a champion of the kind of constructiive involvement that saved his life.

Take Charge! with Jeff Jay shifts the focus from the addict to the power of family and friends.  Individuals with an intense, intimate vested interest in the welfare and recovery of the abuser.  Those with the influence and will to take charge and make a permanent difference.

In 1993, after years of counseling literally thousands of addicts, Jeff was convinced that in most cases change came painfully late... or not at all.  All too often, families and associates stood by in despair as loved ones sank into a tragic abyss of addictive self destruction.  Friends thought "hitting bottom" was the only way out.  Jeff knew from his own harrowing experience, and years of counseling, that there was a better way.

Jeff has combined clinical facts with 30 years of proven techniques to create a unique, powerful, self-help program that teaches you how to understand the disease of addiction.  Take Charge! tells you how to break the cycle of alcohol or drug abuse that threatens you, your family, and your loved one... beginning now!

First, Jeff helps you understand.  You'll get an informative, fast paced education in the psychology and dynamics of addiction.  You will learn that you are not alone - or at fault - as you begin to rebuild confidence in yourself.  To give you a sense of what intervention is all about, you'll listen as a family steps-in and changes the life of a loved one.  You'll even find out what kind of resources you'll need, a learn where to go to find no-cost or low-cost treatment options right in our community.

Finally, Jeff will teach you how to prepare for the day that will point your life back toward the joy and fulfillment that are the dream of every family.  You'll hear the courageous and compelling stories of families who have discovered that Take Charge! can and does change lives.

Chemical dependency-alcoholism and drug addiction is a chronic and progressive disease.  Take Charge! with Jeff Jay presents techniques that have long been used to successfully assist families who need hope - and help - in getting a loved one into a treatment and recovery program.  It is not treat for chemical dependency and is not intended to be used as a replacement or substitute for appropriate substance abuse counseling.
